Tegan and Sara.
That's it.
Best concert of my life. And no, I do not say that lightly. I have been to Alice Cooper, Regina Spektor, and all genres in between but this, this was something else. A week later, I'm still downing the hype that was inspired by the concert.
Maybe it was the interaction with the audience. At one time during the concert, Sara was at the mic and a man sitting in the back yelled "SEX!" at what I assume was the top of his voice. It was loud enough to turn heads in the crowd. Sara then looked in the direction of the shouter and said "Is that like some sort of mating call? Like, you don't flirt anymore. Just shout out what you want." Everyone Roared with laughter. I didn't think quick wit existed anymore but she proved me wrong.
unless it was staged, if that is true, then kudos. It was done very well.
And of course there were very interesting sibling interactions between the idolization-worthy twins. Not excluding obscene gestures and snarky comments. Oh, aren't siblings wonderful?
The music.
The music.
The music.
Almost every favorite was played and unlike some live performances, they were incredible. Living Room was a crowd favorite as was The Con. I adore both of those songs and was not disappointed.
They did a mash up of some of their earlier songs and it was fabulous. I don't think there are words in the English language that could describe how awesome they performed.
Tegan and Sara, you are the heartthrobs of my life and I wouldn't have wanted to spend a sunday night any other way.
Thank you!
